Equality in the workplace
In the workplace, employers are bound by law to promote equality among their employees and to act in cases of harassment. Equality is supported and enforced by the Equality Ombudsman. The Equality Ombudsman is also responsible for raising awareness, spreading knowledge and information concerning issues of equality and discrimination. Even though there are still sectors where one gender is overrepresented e.g the building trade and health care profession, there is continues action being taken to create equality in all sectors of professions.
