Artists come from all over the world to help fill the walls, floors and ceilings of the hotel with unique and ephemeral designs. The world’s first ice hotel was completed in 1989 in Jukkasjärvi north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. The ICEHOTEL is located 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. As of 2016, guests will be able to take part of the experience year-round, as parts of the hotel will stay open, cooled with solar power from the midnight sun. Show less
